Self Care Sunday
Taking a walk
Taking a walk alone, with a friend, pet, or neighbor is good exercise and can be used as time to decompress. Walking outdoors during daylight hours allows you to get vitamin D from the sun. Taking a walk around your neighborhood can help you become familiar and connected with your environment.
Reading a book/ learning something new of interest
Local libraries are a great place to spend some time engaging in self-care without spending money. Audibles and podcast are also great ways to engage in new information. They are readily available and require low commitment.
Catching up with a loved one
Weekends are the perfect time to catch up with those out-of-state relatives and friends. Staying connected with loved ones is an important part of caring for self. When we go through difficult times, we rely on those close to us to help us get through. It's necessary to maintain these valuable relationships.
Focusing on nutrition
Eating for comfort can be delightful but eating for nutrition is an act of self-care. Being intentional about getting adequate nutrition is one way to ensure we are taking care of ourselves.
Calming your senses
Taking a bath, sleeping to rain sounds, drinking a cup of warm tea, and meditating are great ways to calm your senses.
Take time to put yourself together in a way that makes you feel good. A new haircut or a new pair of shoes can go a long way in boosting self-esteem.
Lighthearted laughter
Standup comedy series or romantic comedy movies can be a fun and easy way to distract oneself from the daily hustle and grind.
